Week 33: The Home Stretch! What Decisions Would Be A Surprise?

The 2022-23 broadcast season is almost over! Next week is Reaper Week! I’ll have my final predictions Monday, May 8.

This week I wanted to note the decisions that would surprise me.

I’d be surprised if decisions on these shows went this way:

• Alaska Daily renewal, extra super surprised!

• The Company You Keep renewal

• Big Sky cancellation

• Home Economics cancellation

• The Rookie: Feds cancellation

• The Conners cancellation

• True Lies renewal

The rest of my predictions are close enough to a ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ as to not be a surprise either way. Nothing that happens with the CW shows would surprise me, since I have no expectations. The CW’s in uncharted territory!

🤷 What’s up with CW predictions?

Nexstar purchased 75% of the CW network in 2022. CBS & WB now own just 12.5% of the network each.

Nexstar has a deal obligating them to carry CBS & WB shows on the CW for the 2022-23 season. Nexstar can renew the deal at its option on an annual basis and carry CBS/WB shows longer, but what it will do is anyone’s guess.
